Evaluation Question 2

How effective is the combination of your music video with your digipak and magazine advertisement?

When creating my digipak I aimed to create an obvious synergy between my music video, digipak and my magazine advert. I chose images from my music video for my digipak and magazine advert as it is important for the audience to identify an obvious pattern between the products. This also subconsciously creates a link for the audience automatically about the artist.

The colour scheme was very important and had to stay the same with all 3 products. The colours we used demonstrated happiness and strength (strength to overcome a situation). For my magazine advert, I chose to have an image of an image of the urban location 'Camden', and of an urban character. I used paint and photoshop to create this image. This was because I wanted to edit the brightness of the image, portraying happiness. Also, the brighter the image, the more it attracts consumers. I specifically used this image because it is of an obvious location that our target audience would instantly know, as it is a well known area, for the younger generation.
My artist has been specifically placed on the front cover of my digitpak as the audience are already familiar with her, from watching the music video. I purposely placed different images from the music video for the inside and the back cover of my digipak, this is because I wanted to challenge the conventions by not keeping the images the same or similar, this allows each image to stand out in their own way. The back of the cover is of the lights I filmed when the camera went out of focus, I thought this was particularly effective, demonstrating what the urban life is like at night time, a complete juxtaposition towards my calming front cover.
By adding images from my music video this represents brand identity allowing the audience to instantly realise the artist.

Here are some shots of my music video and how well they are connected with my digipak and advert.

Evaluation Question 3

Here we presented our music video through our treatment, demonstrating our ideas about our video, the concept of our video, what we want the outcome to be, our genre, who we are targeting and the effect of this. We received feedback from our audience, and they proposed some well though out suggestions that we connected into our final product.

Here we have gone into depth with the audience feedback in various ways, using twitter, and video questionaries that have been answered thoroughly by different people.

Evaluation Question 4

How did you use media technologies in the construction and research

For our evaluation questions, I used Prezi to present the 1st question, presenting screenshots of various images and youtube clips onto my presentation, question 2 I wrote a post onto my blog and only used screen shot images to present my answer. We used Photobooth to create our question 3, and used imovie to add our audience feedback and footage and uploaded it onto youtube.
We used Microsoft Powerpoint then uploaded onto Slideshare to present our question 4.

Audience Feedback

Audience Feedback

Audience Feedback

Here, we have made a twitter account for our protagonist for audience feedback and fans for her. This allowed instant constructive criticisms from fans, the music video is for them so we need to know what will keep them interested. A spontaneous way of receiving instant feedback.

Opening and Ending to our music video

We made a very important link between the start of the music video clip and the ending clip this is to show our audience when we are ending our video. We are not sure if we should keep this in or not but I decided to put it on my blog to show what we have done so far.

FINAL MAGAZINE ADVERT

This is my final magazine advert for my music video. Published in the likes of Devlin and other R&B UK artists. I have specifically placed the name of the artist at the top and centre of the image in white so it is recognisable for our audience. Right underneath is the release date of the album, as the title would have attracted the audience already, they will easily be able to see when the album is being released. The colours (neutral oranges) have been specifically chosen as orange is the main colour that has been captured in that shot. It also reflects the neutral feeling of the artist, demonstrating her calm emotion and also demonstrating her heroic feelings (boldness of the writing) from overcoming her break up.

My Two Magazine Ideas and Audience Feedback

I have decided to use Idea 1 because it isn't as generic and is unusual to use 4 different images. However it connects well with our RnB POP genre, especially when we are filming in an urban location. Demonstrating the contrast between day life and night life in a rural area.

Stop Motion

We tried to create our own stop motion, however this was unsuccessful for our music video, it did not fit into the genre (RnB POP), however if we had used an indie genre, it would have been perfect. We did not delete these images as we learnt from this mistake and decided to upload a montage of images of our mise-en-scene and placed it where the stop motion would have been placed instead.

Ideas

Here is a few out-takes taken of our music video (in the making) I gave my partner Stella ideas on what she should do to make this scene even better, to add emphasis on the fact she can't stand by living a lie with someone who isn't good for her, I gave an idea that she should grab hold of the gate as she is standing, showing she is powerful without the person she was in love with, which she did very well!

Here, Stella and I are getting ready to film the 360 degree long shot and mid shot. This was to demonstrate her vulnerability and mindset, of how the relationship affected her.

Here is the outcome of the filming we produced.

Back From The Christmas Holiday

Finally back from a relaxing holiday and now back to work, over the holiday I have been thinking about ideas for our music video, we need a aim and angle that gives our audience an obvious impression of our video. We need to keep their attention from start to finish. So what I have done is bought a few props from 99p Store and Poundland that could make it a little more 'funky'. The aim of our video is to show the confusion of our character because she is still in love with the boy that broke her heart however she is overcoming the situation and by doing crazy 'fun' things keeps her mind sane.

Last night my mother helped me to blow up 160 balloons which are sitting in my room, not too sure what we are planning on doing yet with tim but something creative.
